Ugly is the kindest word you could use to describe this piano. It an 1892 commemorative piano honoring the 400th anniversary of Columbus landing in the New World. This was celebrated in the 1892 Worlds Fair in Chicago. 119 years old. It spent time in a Kindergarten local to me and they are the one's that painted it green, thinking a bright color would make it more attractive for the kids. Or so the story goes. My plans for it are to strip it and refinish it. Then make it into a desk. Check out Pianodesk.com for some pics of other piano desks.
